  2. I was introduced to Moses via Ryan Adam's twitter and he stole my heart. My cat Lia passed away this past Friday and I never thought I could even consider adopting another cat. But this little man changed my mind. Thank you so much for sharing his journey. I'll continue to pray him him (and both of you two. Salt of the earth, you both are) -Michelle

  5. Hi, I've bottle raised a lot of kittens, and it looks like you're doing a really good job! Here's a couple of things you might not have read about that have worked well for me. Having stuffed animal kittens his size to play with as he gets older will be fun for him. And giving him a soft washcloth bath (put the wet washcloth over one finger) and gently stroking him will mimic a mama's tongue bath, and they seem to really like it. It will really help him bond to you. And don't be surprised when he gets older if he sucks on blankets for comfort. Nearly every single kitten I've bottle fed sucked on their blanket and kneaded it before falling asleep. And crawling up your leg is cute at this age, but believe me, when they get older and stronger it can be quite painful. Again, good job!

  6. And, yes, sadly, as you've been told, bottle-fed kittens just don't live as long as other cats. Most of my bottle-fed babies didn't make it to 5 with most lost around 3-4 years old, and one with kidney problems, despite a high-quality diet. They are just different in all aspects from cats raised by a mama with siblings. Be prepared.

  12. May God bless your family and any family that takes in these little "squeakers". Just over fourteen years ago, someone dropped off a tiny baby kitten near our house (we live out in the country). We spent hours trying to catch him, lure him, and coax him into the warmth and safety of our home. He evaded our efforts, and we eventually returned home saddened.

Now it wasn't fifteen minutes later and it started raining buckets outside. Just a total downpour. As I was standing outside watching the rain come down, I noticed a teeny little scrap of fur sitting on our doorstep face plastered against the glass and meowing to beat the band.

From that day forward, "Pooky" has been a treasured family member.

May you have many happy years, memories, laughs and purrs with your new found fur baby!
